History 

1978 - On Saturday, December 1, 1978, GMMI founding members met for an organizational meeting in Pittsburgh, PA. Soon after this meeting Gospel Music Ministries International was incorporated in the State Of Pennsylvania.

1979 - The first GMMI Talent Search Crusade was held on January 29, 1979 at the House of the Lord Church in Beaver Falls, PA.

1981- GMMI first Outreach Office was opened in the Highland Building located on S. Highland Ave. in Pittsburgh's East Liberty Mall; GMMI's first Outreach Church opened in Beaver Falls, PA on April 1; GMMI's Gospel Connection Broadcast was first aired in June on WYJZ AM, the sister station to Pittsburgh's WAMO-FM Radio; Rev. Fulton's LP Album entitled "I JUST CAN'T STOP" was released with The DeEster Raines Singers and Brother Alexander A. Martin as special guest and local musician members of GMMI.

1983 - GMMI presented "The Gospel Connection Spotlight on Pittsburgh Gospel Music" at the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall, as a fundraiser for Womanspace East Inc. (organization serving women in crisis, battered, and their dependent children). The concert featured Alter Howard, Evang, Josephine Organ, Alexander A. Martin and Gloria Inez Briskey: King and Queen of Pittsburgh Gospel Radio. It was supported by the University of Pittsburgh Office of Urban and Community Service.

1984 - Rev. Fulton was called to the Pocono Mountains where he started the GMMI Gospel Connection Pocono Outreach.

1985 - The Gospel Connection Broadcast began airing on East Stroudsburg University's Radio Station, W.E.S.S. FM. In the same year Rev. Fulton along with students helped to organize the East Stroudsburg University Gospel Choir, serving as Staff Advisor and Minister of Music.

1986 - The Beakleyville Baptist church (now the Covenant Church) asked Rev. Fulton to serve as pastor of a new Beakleyville Mission to serve minorities in the Pocono area.

1990 - Rev. Robert J. Fulton and family returned to Pittsburgh and resumed all GMMI operations.

2000 - Supertown Inc. was formed as the primary distributor of all GMMI products and sponsor of GMMI music programs.

2003 - Rev. Robert J. "Bobby" and Estelle Fulton hosted GMMI presents the Gospel Connection, "Church Coming to You," radio broadcast each Sunday on Pittsburgh
WAMO 860.

2008 - On Friday, December 12, 2008, GMMI held its 30th Year of Ministry Celebration at the Nuin Center with a Commemoration CD entitled the Gospel Connection - Old, New, and True, by Rev. Fulton, released on the Music of Pittsburgh label.

In addition, throughout the years GMMI has operated a Food Bank, Bible Courses, Children Summer Bible Camps, Thanksgiving dinners for the underprivileged and elderly, Music Workshops, and conducted Evangelistic Outreach.
